Delhi govt to purchase power from Uttaranchal

New Delhi, 28 Oct 2006
Delhi government has signed a power purchase agreement with Tehri Hydro Development Corporation for supply of power to the capital from the Koteshwar Hydro Electric Power Plant in Uttaranchal.

The Kotshwar Plant being set up by the THDC in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal has an installed capacity of 400 mw, out of which Delhi’s allocation is 40 mw.

The plant is expected to be commissioned by 2009.
